A Poetry Club has been formed in Long Wittenham. It meets monthly at The Plough pub and the next meeting is on 15th November starting at 8pm. The first gathering was in October when members read their own poems which reflected autumn. Poems by Walt Whitman, R. S Thomas, and Seamus Heaney featured during the evening. After each poem had been read there was a discussion and questions aimed at trying to understand the author’s intent.
Organiser David Corney said the group looked forward to meeting new members for an “interesting and thought provoking” evening of poetry. More details available from Mr Corney at email@example.com
