Long Wittenham Parish Council needs to recruit new members. Currently, there are five councillors, two short of the recommended number. Could you provide a voice for people living in the village?
The parish council is involved in many key areas of local administration: representing residents, delivering services to meet local needs and improving quality of life and community well being. There are also major challenges which take up a lot of the council’s time:
- The revision of the Neighbourhood Development Plan
- The design and development of the Community Hub to provide the much needed pre-school, new primary school and new village hall
- Threats of unwanted housing developments such as those from Kler and Lagan Homes
A full strength council will be better placed to tackle these challenges, so please consider ‘doing your bit’ to help to shape the future of the village.
The council would especially like to recruit from Saxons Heath and Westfield Road which at the moment are not represented, but people living in all parts of the village are welcome to apply.
For more information speak to any of the councillors (see the link below) or contact the parish clerk on 07949 888575 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
