Book Talk at St Mary’s

The author of Landmark in Time – The World of Wittenham Clumps, Peter Adamson, is coming to St Mary’s Church in May to talk about how and why his book came to be written, and about the  challenge of making each of the twenty chapters tell a story about the things that fall within view of the Clumps.

The talk will also describe how the author began by thinking there were probably many places in England from which such a book could be written, but ended by realising that there can be very few  places as rich in interest – historical, literary, environmental and scientific – as the area we are all lucky enough to call home.

The talk will be given at St Mary’s on Saturday 7th May at 7.30 pm, in aid of the Friends of St. Mary’s.

Entrance will be £7, payable on the door, or beforehand to Dom Jarman on 01865 407416, or email dominic.jarman@btinternet.com.
