If you’ve read the signs welcoming you to Long Wittenham, then you will be aware that Long Wittenham is twinned with the Normandy village of Thaon. Located just a 30 minute drive from the ferry port of Caen, the Normandy beaches and the historic town of Bayeux are nearby. The Twinning Association promote Anglo-French relations based on visits to families and they also offer an annual bursary to students studying French. The Association has an active and enjoyable social programme, which is the sole source of funding for entertaining our French guests on their visits.
