Come along and enjoy a very pleasant late Summer’s evening full of fun, food and frivolity, meeting old friends and making new ones, and it is a great opportunity to join in if you are new to the village. We are back after a year’s break and ROARING to go.

For those not familiar with a Safari Supper and you cannot tell a lion from a leopard then fear not this bite is far less daunting… this is basically a dinner party for all with a difference!

Please see the format below to give you a flavour of the event (more details to follow):

7.00pm        Meet in the village hall for a pre-dinner drink

7.30pm        Leave for starter course in your host’s house. You will be given details about where you are going when you arrive at the village hall only.

8.30pm        Leave your starter course host & go to a different venue for the main course (details from your starter course host on the night).

10pm           Tear yourselves away from your main course hosts to meet up with all participants of the evening at the final location Elm Close House where you will be dazzled with a choice of scrumptious desserts, tea, coffee. There will also be a donations bar and raffle, so you will need to bring cash!

Safari Suppers in the past have proved to be really enjoyable evenings & if you haven’t been before, please do come along.

They are a great way of meeting new faces and re-acquainting yourselves with old friends.

As usual the success of the event relies on lots of people offering to host a course (and if not a course then a pudding for our final destination). Hosts can choose how many people they want to cater for –  it’s usually between 6 and 10 (including yourselves) plus they will be given a number of bottles of wine by us.

Tickets are £20 each (including hosts who themselves are hosted at the starter or main they did not do) and that includes supper & a couple of glasses of wine, music, tea and coffee.

All profits will go to our village charity Wittenham Warriors supporting local causes in the village (in previous years we have contributed to the new school playground and the apple press at the Sylva Wood Foundation) and which this year will include a donation to the restoration of the St. Mary’s bells.
