Litter Pick

We are looking for volunteers to come along to the village hall where you will be provided with Hi Viz jackets, gloves,rubbish bags & litter picking tools.

You will then choose an area of the village that you would like to “litter pick” the rubbish is then returned to the village hall and you will be rewarded with tea & cake plus the pleasure of knowing you have had a part in keeping our village beautiful.

Swap Shop

Do you have items you no longer need that are clean & reusable?  Are there items that you would find useful to have?

The village Swapshop has been set up to encourage the passing on of unwanted items to a good home and/or picking up something useful. Most things that are non-hazardous, clean & genuinely reusable are welcome. NO money changes hands. There will be a box for those who would like to make a donation to a local cause.

What can you bring?

New & used tools
Household articles & gadgets
Small portable mains electric items, in working order with a CE mark & all necessary cables
Garden Equipment
Adult Bicycles (No childrens bikes)
Books, DVD’s & CD’s
Adult Clothing (No childrens clothing)
Curtains & soft furnishings
Small items of furniture
Sports equipment

Drop off items at village hall from 9.30am, doors open at 10am

Old Socks for the Homeless

Please bring along your unwanted socks, clean, with no holes & in pairs! Why? Because the lovely Carlene, a former resident of Long Wittenham goes along once a month to give pedicures to the homeless people of Oxford & likes to complete the treatment by putting a clean pair of socks on their feet.

An act of kindness that deserves our support.
