Gambling Policy Consultation

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) would like to know what residents think of its proposed changes to the joint South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils’ Statement of Licensing Principles, otherwise known as the Gambling Policy.

The policy describes how the councils deal with applications for gambling activities whilst being consistent with the three licensing objectives to:

  • Prevent gambling from being associated with crime and disorder;
  • Ensure gambling is fair and open;
  • Protect children and other vulnerable persons from harm or exploitation.

There is a legal requirement for the councils to review the Gambling Policy every three years and the current policy is due to expire in January 2022.

There is more information and a link to the online survey on the SODC website.

The consultation will run until Tuesday 10th August 2021.
