Kler Appeals Didcot Road Plan

Residents will be disappointed to hear that Kler Group has decided to appeal the decision against its planning application to realign the Didcot Road to facilitate the entrance to their housing development on the corner of Didcot Road and Fieldside.

Last November, the South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) planning committee rejected the plan with seven votes to reject and three abstentions.  The plan was deemed to be dangerous to road users and not acceptable as it would turn a rural road into an urban highway out of keeping with a village environment and in contravention of the village’s Neighbourhood Development Plan.

This appeal will be determined on the basis of written representations.  Residents who objected to the plan will have received formal notice of the appeal and are urge to make their case again, but those who did not object originally can also comment.

You can make your case online at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ using appeal reference APP/Q3115/W/19/3220743, or you can write (quoting the appeal reference) to

Submissions must be made by 10th April 2019.  The formal notice of the appeal sent to the Parish Council is here.

How many times do they have to be told no ,if they want wider access then take it out of their own land ,this is an absolute joke ,we are a rural village and do not want the entrance to our village ruined and more so make it worse for speeding vehicles to abuse the village even more !!!!!This must be stopped and it is upto all the village to stop this.

Hi Donna I think we probably all agree this is a bad idea.
Please make your feelings known to the Planning Inspector by using the link above to send him your thoughts. You can complain about road safety, impact on the visual approach to the village, potential loss of trees due to the roadworks and widening and impact of the road being moved much closer to the bungalows along Didcot Road increasing noise and pollution and affecting their parking and front gardens.
The more responses we get the better.
