Kler Planning Application Update

Kler have made a number of amendments to their planning application to re-align the Didcot Road to facilitate the entrance to the site of their housing development on the corner of Fieldside and Didcot Road.

These amendments are in response to problems raised by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) about the application.

The OCC objections and the Kler amendments can be viewed here:

These amendments are not subject to a formal public consultation, but South Oxfordshire District Council has said that residents can comment on them if they wish either on the website or by email to registration@southandvale.gov.uk quoting reference P18/S1964/FUL by 11th September.

It seems to me and several of the villagers,it does not matter what we say kler and other developers will do as they want, its about time all development in this area is stopped until the roads are sorted out ,new bypass ,too many houses the roads cannot cope !!!!!

Dear Donna I am sorry you feel this way. We tried very hard to prevent the Kler development but a Government Planning Inspector overruled PC Objections and SODC Planning Committee who would have rejected the plans.
However we have had some success recently as Lagan Homes wanted to build on the land next to Bodkins Field. Because of our Neighbourhood Plan and strong objections from both the PC and residents at that end of the village the Developer has withdrawn their plans.
OCC has plans for a new link road from Didcot to JET at Culham but this is several years away. When it comes it will take most through traffic out of the village.
