We are pleased to announce that Richard May is the new administrator of the Village Hall 200 Club Lottery. He takes over from Ian Penberth who has done the job for several years. Thanks to Ian for all his work.
The 200 Club offers monthly cash prizes to its members and raises funds for maintaining and improving the Village Hall. Last year, £780 was paid out to members in prizes and the hall benefited from nearly £1,000. Over the past forty years, this regular income has helped to improve and upgrade facilities and to make the hall more comfortable and attractive to visit or hire.
Richard is keen to increase the membership and encourages any residents who are not already participating to do so. For an annual membership subscription of only £12 you could win one (or more) of the weekly £10 Prizes and/or one of the quarterly £50 or £100 Prizes.
The draw is made monthly and announced at the Lunch Club on the third Thursday of each month. Results are posted on the village notice boards and on the Long Wittenham website.
We are very grateful to the volunteer Collectors who distribute the prizes and take subscriptions. April marks the start of the new year for the 200 Club and Collectors will be visiting existing members to collect their subscriptions soon. Richard is looking for a few more Collectors and he would really like to increase member numbers.
