OCC to Debate Motion to Accept Planning Powers Stripped from SODC

Next Tuesday (11th February), Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) will debate whether to accept a transfer of planning powers from South Oxfordshire County Council (SODC) if the Secretary of State for Housing offers it to them.  The meeting starts at 10.30am in County Hall, Oxford.

The Parish Council has been asked to publicise this meeting by our District Councillor, Sam Casey-Rerhaye, who believes that it is crucial to demonstrate opposition to this overriding of a democratic mandate as well as to the plan itself.

As with all Council meetings, members of the public are allowed to address the meeting first, for a maximum of three minutes each.  Anyone who wants to speak will need to register by Monday 10th February.

There will also be a peaceful and respectful demonstration against the motion outside the building on Tuesday morning.
