The legal agreement has been now signed between the Parish Council and Reading University giving the public official access to the path across West Field from the wooden footbridge to the cyclepath near Acklings.
Permissive Path rights have been agreed between all parties including the tenant farmers Emmett Brothers. It means that pedestrians and dog walkers will be able to use the path without trespassing.
The well-trodden route has been used unofficially for many years but in effect, the public has been trespassing. The Permissive Path agreement has removed that legal constraint.
