Planning Applications

Residents will be aware that when a householder applies to South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) to alter their property, SODC usually informs the owners of the adjoining properties of the planning application and invites them to comment.

The Parish Council receives notification of all planning applications in the locality and is also invited to comment.  At last Thursday’s Parish Council meeting it was suggested that, as the applications are in the public domain, the details of all planning applications received by the Council should be published on this website, so that householders who may be affected by property alterations but who do not receive direct notification can also view applications and comment.

This was agreed by the Council and residents can expect to see planning application details appear here, as and when they are received.

The Council was notified of a new planning application two days before the meeting.  This is for a development of 176 houses at Lady Grove in Didcot.  The details can be viewed here:

Unfortunately, the supporting documentation for the application does not make the location of the development very clear.  This map may help.
