Pre-School Garden Revival

We all know how important outdoor space is for young children.  This is why the LW Pre-School Trustees had hoped to hold a number of fundraising events during the Summer term to raise money to help improve and revitalise the garden.

Given the current situation they have had to rethink these plans.  They are now calling on parents and the community to help by making a pledge of time, getting creative at home, or donating an item from their Amazon wish list.  Here is how you can get involved:

  • The manager Natalie and the team have put together an Amazon Wish List of toys and equipment needed for the garden; there is everything from plant pots to steppingstones.  Your generous donation can be delivered directly to the Pre-School by selecting the Pre-School delivery address.  Just click on the link above.
  • When safe to do so, a ‘garden tidy up day’ on a Saturday or Sunday will be organised.  Would you be willing to pledge an hour of your time to plant some flowers or sweep leaves?
  • Fancy a DIY project whilst at home?  Then please pledge to build a bug hotel or a bird feeder or a fairy door, or even grow some plants.  There are lots of ideas and links to how-to-guides on this Pinterest Board.

Any support, no matter how big or small, is of great value to the Pre-School, especially during this difficult time.

For more information or to pledge your support, please get in touch with one of the Trustees via email: Eli@longwittenhampreschool.co.uk or Caz@longwittenhampreschool.co.uk.

The children could make the bug hotels with bits brought from home and also make fairy doors on cardboard or wood scraps. Get the children involved – they will learn and play and appreciate it more.
