Pump Track Update

Gordon Rogers, chairman of the Parish Council, writes ….

The Parish Council supports the Pump Track which has been developed in Acklings playing field and congratulates the project team for their hard work in creating the new facility.  By granting the track financial support of £1,000 the council has demonstrated its commitment to the project.  The track is not operational at the moment because it awaits a safety audit from RoSPA – the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

The safety check will take place on Monday 12th July.  The council is confident that the Pump Track will receive a clean bill of health and it should be fully operational before the start of the school holidays and maybe sooner.

The council has a duty of care to the community to ensure that all equipment and facilities in the three play areas – Acklings, Westfield and Bodkins – comply with safety standards and that is why RoSPA has been asked to bring forward its annual inspection.  It is important that all users of the track should comply with the safety instructions displayed on the notice board.  The Parish Council wishes everyone who uses the track an enjoyable and exciting experience.
