  1. David Haylett says:

Nice to have ample warning! To be suddenly confronted by “Road Closed” signs is, to say the least, highly inconvenient. Anyone approaching from Didcot direction doesn’t see a sign until they are well past the junction for Sires Hill. Great planning!!

  2. Liz+Nightingale says:

    We should have had notice.

  3. Andrew Lea says:

That explains why there is so much extra traffic coming through Little Wittenham this morning. Usual thing – too fast, too inconsiderate, with no respect for residents, walkers and other road users on our tiny single lane.

    • Alan Brown says:

You should be thankful you do not reside in Long Wittenham we have this constantly.

      • Graham Warrington says:

Trust me we do get it all the time in Little Wittenham. Constant alternative road to avoid Long Wittenham.

      • Donna Harrison says:

Well said was going to say exactly that .I have emailed Aaron Morton in charge of highways saying the housing developers should be made to put our traffic calming in on the Didcot road it has been months now without any ,I have emailed also our local MP making him aware of what’s not being done .

        • Chris Waites says:

Isn’t the reason why there is no traffic calming because of the slightly deranged idea of the Parish Council to object to Vanderbilt installing traffic calming, thereby condemning those living on Didcot Road to months of boy racers whilst some paperwork is filled in?

          Blame the Parish Council.

          • Debra Steele says:

Does this mean that we are not getting any traffic calming on Didcot Road. We live on it & it is very fast. Thank you.

  4. Mandy Williams says:

    Pure bliss

  5. Debra Steele says:

Any clues on when it is opening?? Have to get home today.

  6. Ruth McCreight says:

Too short notice, surely this should have been properly planned.

  7. Graham Warrington says:

Trust me we get it all the time in Little Wittenham

  8. Liz Nightingale says:

I have just walked along the village and down the road to Clifton Hampden as far as the farm. I see no road closure. Traffic does not appear to be turning round and coming back later.

  9. Ellie says:

Liz, does it seem to be open now?? I have to connect boys from Didcot in an hour!
