Wittenham Warriors have announced that the ever popular Village Safari Supper will take place on Saturday 16th September 2023.
Come along and enjoy a late Summer’s evening full of fun, food and frivolity, meeting old friends and making new ones. It is a great opportunity to join in if you are new to the village, and raise some money at the same time.
For those not familiar with a Safari Supper, it is a dinner party for all with a difference:
7pm – Meet in the Village Hall for a pre-dinner drink.
7.30pm – Leave for the starter course in your host’s house. You will find out where you are going once you arrive at the Village Hall.
8.30pm – Leave your starter course host and go to a different host for the main course (location revealed by your starter course host on the night).
10pm – Tear yourselves away from your main course hosts to meet up with all guests of the evening at the final location (which this year will be at Jason and Tory Edwards’ house) where you will be treated to a choice of scrumptious desserts, tea and coffee. There will also be a bar and raffle.
The success of the event relies on lots of people offering to host a starter or main course (and if not a course, then providing a pudding for the final destination).
Hosts can choose how many people they want to cater for – it’s usually between six and ten (including the hosts). The wine will be provided.
Tickets are £20 per person (£15 per person for hosts).
All profits will go to the village charity, the Wittenham Warriors, supporting local causes in the village. In previous years they have contributed to the new school playground, the apple press at the Sylva Wood Foundation and the restoration of the church bells.
Further details of the evening, including information about hosting and how to purchase tickets will be published soon.
