The Oxfordshire County Council Trading Standards team has asked the Parish Council to share the following information about two campaigns that will be launched next week, which they hope will be beneficial to residents.
On 30th November, the England Illegal Money Lending Team is launching its annual ‘Stop Loan Sharks Week’ Christmas campaign. The theme this year is avoiding loan sharks online amid concerns that more people are falling prey to unscrupulous lenders on social media. To find out more visit the Stop Loan Sharks website.
On 3rd December, Friends Against Scams are launching an initiative called ‘Scamnesty’ for a month. Scamnesty is designed to encourage everyone in the UK to have a chat with their loved ones about scams and to send in any scam or unwanted mail into the team free of charge.
