Vanderbilt Homes has submitted more amendments to its planning application for the housing development on the corner of Fieldside and Didcot Road.
These amendments are ‘discharge of conditions’ which means they deal with the conditions specified by the planning inspector when the outline planning permission was granted for the site in January 2018.
The amendments, dated 12th November 2020, contain a number of documents relating to drainage on the site.
The new documents can be viewed here:
Still no mention of archaeology?
The Parish Council has asked the SODC case officer and Vanderbilt for the archaeology report, but nothing so far. Will post it here, if it ever materialises.
After much chasing we have had the following from Richard Oram who is the county archaeologist:
The largest part of the archaeological fieldwork has been undertaken on this site but there are still further areas that will require further investigation. The report will be produced once the fieldwork has been completed but the initial work on the report is underway.
The majority of the archaeological fieldwork has now been completed and the areas signed off for development. There are however areas within the development which were not accessible for excavation at the time due to the overhead power cable. These areas will still need to be excavated once this power cable has been re-routed. This excavation is hopefully going to start in mid-March.
