Richard May, the administrator of the Village Hall 200 Club writes:
April marks the start of the new year for the 200 Club – the time when our team of diligent collectors would normally be visiting you during April and May to collect membership subscriptions. However the restrictions placed on movement, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, would make it extremely difficult (and potentially unsafe) to collect subscriptions, or to distribute prizes.
It has therefore been decided to suspend the operation of the 200 Club for an initial period of six months. We will review this in September (or earlier – if government movement restrictions are lifted) with a view to re-starting the 200 Club operation from 1st October 2020.
A big thank you to all those who have supported the Village Hall by partaking in the 200 Club – the contribution made by these members help to keep our Village Hall operating and keeps rental fees as low as possible for the many users. During this last year, several lucky members have shared £780 in prize monies and the Village Hall has benefited from a £900 contribution to its running costs.
Prize draws take place once per month, usually during the final week of the month; an online random number generator is used for convenience to select the prizewinners – based solely your membership number. Over the past five years, 85% of our members have received at least one prize – some very lucky members have won four or five prizes.
