Some residents may have noticed that the Long Wittenham War Memorial in front of the primary school has undergone an Autumn-clean.
With the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War coming up in November, the Parish Council thought it an appropriate time to have the memorial cleaned, as the build up of grime and the growth of lichen over recent years had rendered some of the text and the names of the fallen very difficult to read.
