A centre of vaccine excellence in the UK

The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) facility is currently under construction. The 7,400 sqm state-of-the-art facility will be located at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, which is in Didcot Garden Town. Fast tracked as a priority project during the COVID-19 pandemic, once operational, VMIC will develop novel innovative manufacturing processes and carry out vaccine manufacturing at a variety of scales.

The centre will also serve as the national response capability for the UK government in order to produce vaccines against future pandemics and emerging infectious diseases.

The Centre was established through funding from UK Research and Innovation, as part of the UK Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

A new Business Sounding Board is being launched at 4:30pm on 8 February to support the local business community and to influence the Didcot Garden Town project.

The sounding board is open to all types of organisations, large or small, to set up a new network for businesses based the Didcot Garden Town area.

At the first online session, you will meet with the team behind the Didcot Garden Town project and find out what this means for you as a business.  There’s an opportunity for all businesses to feedback your priorities for the area, within a breakout session.

Please click here to find out more about the first session and to register.

We please ask that we have no more than one person representing their business, to make sure everyone in the area can join the session.
