Vale of White Horse District Council has leased the tennis courts and multi-use games area to the Boundary Park Sports Association.

The sports association has opened the new and exciting facilities to local groups and the wider community for various activities and games.

We hope these new facilities will help get people out and about to keep active.

Our councils have also opened all three community centres on Great Western Park.

The Northern, Southern and District Community Centres are now available for residents and groups to hire with priority bookings given to groups helping to support Covid-19 responses.

This is great news for the community! Providing accessible facilities throughout the garden town remains a priority.

Support available for volunteer litter pick
South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils can help support groups and individuals to organise their own litter picking event.  The councils can provide litter picker equipment and packs on loan.

The pack includes hi-vis jackets, bags and litter picking hoops to help you keep your neighbourhood tidy.

They’ll even come and pick up your filled bags once you’ve finished your event.

Welcome to the Litter Bug Detectives Trail

The district councils are encouraging everyone to get involved from 29 May to 5 June in trails at Abbey Garden Meadows in Abingdon, Memorial Park in Wantage, Edmonds Park in Didcot and Southern Road Recreation Ground in Thame for the Litter Bug Detectives Trail.

At each site there will be a question on waste and recycling. The 13 answers will provide you with a letter each to make two words.
