Parish Council

Long Wittenham Parish Council is a statuary local authority established under the Local Government Act 1972.

Its key responsibilities include:

  • Some open spaces (Bodkins, Acklings, Westfield Road Play Area, Saxons Heath Green)
  • Official Consultee for Planning Applications
  • Creation of Neighbourhood Development Plan
  • Maintenance of War Memorials
  • Taking up issues on behalf of Residents
  • Liaison with County and District Council
  • Sponsorship of Village Events, such as Fun Run and Fireworks
  • Allocation of Grant Funding

It meets every month (except August) in the Village Hall and all residents are encouraged to attend.
