Athletics Club Stalwart Steps Down

It’s all change at Long Wittenham Athletics Club.  Long serving president Bill Symonds has stepped down after fifteen years in the role and has been replaced by former chairman Derek Meadham.  His position has been taken over by Ian Burton.  Ron Carter continues as secretary and Steve Bolton remains social secretary.

Friends of St Mary’s AGM

The Friends of St Mary’s will be holding their Annual General Meeting in the church at 8pm on Wednesday 20th June.

The charity runs various events throughout the year to raise funds to provide those little extras for the church when normal Parochial Church Council funds are already stretched.  Its main project at present is the building of a much needed all-access toilet and kitchen to make the church a friendlier and more useful facility in the community. Bank Holiday Bin Collections

Don’t forget that in the week following a bank holiday, there will be changes to South Oxfordshire District Council’s waste collections schedule.

There will be no waste collections on Bank Holiday Monday 28th May.  Bins will then be emptied one day later than usual for the rest of that week.  In South Oxfordshire, this is a grey bin and food waste bin collection week. Continue reading
