Tuesday 10th July 2018
Didcot Divas provided our July meeting with a wonderful evening of entertainment.
Our amazing summer weather made it essential to have both entrances to the Village Hall open, so the joyful sound of the ladies choir soaring out probably entertained more than the actual audience.
Their songs were varied, from spirituals to show tunes and were mixed with highly amusing monologues on subjects as varied as tassels and swimsuits, but the genuine laughter was guaranteed.
A beautiful flower arrangement with a Suffragette theme (kindly made and donated by Angela Humphris) was raffled in aid of the Diva’s chosen charities of Helen and Sobell House, and raised over £100. Thank you to all for the generous donations.
Everyone commented on the great evening rounded off with summertime refreshments. What could get better than that?
