Beat The Heat

The Parish Council has been asked by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) to pass on this message to residents.

Stay safe in the heat this summer.  Due to climate change, temperatures are increasing in Oxfordshire and elsewhere with more dry, hot weather and heatwaves.  In the summer of 2022, sixty-five excess deaths occurred in Oxfordshire during periods of higher temperatures.

See the flyer below for some top tips about how you or someone you care for can keep safe this Summer.

Every hot day there will be a queue of elderly people brought in by ambulance to the JR due to dehydration. Call it nanny state but it is much cheaper for all of us not to send our paramedics to dozens of people every hot day.
