Residents may have seen some activity on the Community Hub site. Exploratory trenches are being dug to verify the situation regarding any possible archeological remains on the site.
An initial study of various records showed that there might be some remains beneath the site and so Oxfordshire County Council’s Archeology Officer has been consulted about what further investigation is required before the site design is finalised to avoid any remains that might be uncovered.
On the adjacent Kler site, a similar study and trial trenches found nothing of great significance and a similar outcome is anticipated.
Once the results of the excavations are known it will be possible to plan the next village meeting to present the latest plans for final comment before the planning application for the Hub is submitted. The application will also include plans for the current school and village hall sites.
