Councillor Steps Down

After seven years service, Liz Yuille has stepped down from the Parish Council.

Having moved to Long Wittenham from London in January 2015, Liz was keen to get involved with village life and started to attend Parish Council meetings to get a better understanding of how it worked.  She had been an Insurance Broker for many years and in 2018 she offered to review the Parish Council’s insurances.  She subsequently joined the Council in May 2019.

In September 2024 she agreed to chair Parish Council meetings while the then Chair was on a protracted sabbatical, following which, she stepped into the role of Chair from May 2025.

Prior to the Annual Parish Council meeting in May this year she announced that she had come to the difficult decision that she would have to step down as Chair from May and as a Councillor from July 2026,

Liz has found her time on the Parish Council to be very rewarding and would encourage all residents to consider joining the Parish Council.
