County Council Election

The new Oxfordshire County Councillor for Long Wittenham is Johnny Hope-Smith who won the Cholsey & The Hagbournes seat for the Liberal Democrat Party on 1st May, taking 45% of the total vote with 1447 votes.  The turnout was 36.1%.

The other candidates polled as follows: Kieran Mark Collins (Reform) 678 (21.1%), Luke Stephen King (Local Conservatives) 556 (17.3%), Helena Jayne Nunan (Green Party) 277 (8.6%), Jim Broadbent (Labour Party) 169 (5.3%), Kyn Pomlett (Social Democratic Party) 90 (2.8%).

The village was previously represented Dr Pete Sudbury for the Green Party.

The Parish Council looks forward to welcoming our new county councillor to one of its meetings in the near future.
