Didcot Road Bus Stop

Following protracted negotiations with Oxfordshire County Council, mainly delayed by the Elivia developers, the very small bus stop area opposite the Saxons Heath junction with Didcot Road has been relocated to a much safer location at the entrance to Wessex Way.

Here there is a full width footway where passengers can wait further away from the traffic and with sufficient room for pushchairs and shopping trolleys.  It should also be much safer to cross the road by using the zebra crossing which is close to the new stop.

This means the Didcot bound buses will now stop opposite the returning bus stop which has always been opposite the entrance to Wessex Way.

School buses will also be using the new stop.  The old stop is being phased out over the next few days and buses will no longer stop there.

    Good.

    That’s great news.
Let’s hope the same common sense is applied to the Didcot bound bus stop at The Plough and move it to actually be at The Plough, where there is protection from the elements for waiting customers, and not at No 25 High St. Buses currently stop blocking the driveway to No 25 and the entrance to the pub…
