Revd David Haylett writes …
Next Sunday, 14th June, is traditionally the Sunday when we celebrate the dedication of St Mary’s Church just over 900 years ago.
Since then the building has been the place where villagers are married, have their children baptised and, when the time came, held their funeral service and were buried in the churchyard. Most importantly, Sunday by Sunday, congregations have met to worship God.
At 9.30am there will be a special service of Holy Communion to celebrate our village church and all it stands for. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
