Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Village Fun yesterday (27th April). The sun shone and everyone had a great day!
There were 190 entries and 173 finishers – some people didn’t turn up, and some people didn’t come through the finish, having returned to their cars at the Wood Centre.
New course records were set by the winners: Matthew Quartermain (17:35) and Annie King (21:11) and also in the categories M40 by Richard Ashby (20:31), W40 by Joanna King (22:04), M65 by Peter Greenland (29:40), and W65 Janet Hill (35:03).
The family trophy was won by the Brown family (Demi, David, Tei-Jai, Jaxon, Kyle, Jayden and Taylan).
The fastest villager awards went to Ollie Pritchard (former resident), who was second overall (19:51) and Ruth Elliot (24:49).
Well done to all who came and took part and thank you to the more than fifty helpers who made it happen.
Special thanks is due to Prew Bowtell who organised the event, to The Plough for the use of its garden and the Parish Council for supplying the trophies and medals.
The cake stall and barbecue raised hundreds of pounds for the school and pre-school, and the participants entry fees will be used for worthy causes in the village.
