The Parish Council (PC) has just installed two new flashing Speed Indicator Devices (SIDs) in the village.
Last year Thames Valley Police offered grants for road safety improvements and the PC was successful in its bid to buy these signs. The SIDs have cost about £5,800 and the grant was £5,700.
Then parish councillor David Corney submitted the bid on behalf of the PC and it helped significantly that the village has an active Community Speedwatch Group. Once the grant was confirmed, the PC was able to negotiate a reduced price for the devices, saving approximately £400.
Oxfordshire County Council Highways decided where the signs should be placed as they have to meet numerous criteria. They also erected the posts for the SIDs a couple of weeks ago. Cllr Steve Brown and his son Jim installed the signs and made sure they were working.
The PC hopes they will help to reduce traffic speeds through the village.

We can just hope , do they record the speeds because if not we will have no idea if actually working and not just another sign in our already over signed village .
Thank you to everyone who took on this project & delivered!
