New Parish Councillor

The Parish Council welcomed a new member to its ranks at its meeting last evening (21st May), when Richard Jackson was co-opted as councillor.

Richard has lived in Long Wittenham with his wife Mo since May 2000.  Prior to retirement in 2020, he was managing partner of an Intellectual Property (Patents & Trade Marks) law firm in London where he specialised in engineering and tech inventions for 35 years.  He has also been Treasurer of The Friends of the Church of St Mary in Long Wittenham since 2006.

Richard is a sports fan, having a season ticket at Tottenham with his son, and enjoys watching most live sports.  He plays golf regularly throughout the year and captains a hockey team at Wallingford HC during the winter.  He also plays football with the Long Wittenham veterans on a Tuesday evening and enjoys a beer or two afterwards in The Plough.  Richard is a keen SCUBA diver with his daughter, and the family all enjoy watching the wildlife on the Thames when boating.

Cllr Jackson can be contacted at richard.jackson@longwittenham.com.
