The council is to contribute more than £2,000 towards the cost of a solar-powered flashing 30mph sign known as a VAS or Vehicle Activated Sign. The sign will be positioned at the entrance to the village from the direction of Clifton Hampden. The total cost of the sign and installation is nearly £5,400. The parish council will pay £2,250 and the balance will come from county council funds. Residents living close to the bend have expressed concerns about the speed of some vehicles entering the village and the risk they pose to pedestrians and properties.
