Oxford City Temporary Congestion Charge

Some residents may be aware that Oxfordshire’s County Council (OCC) will be introducing a £5 daily charge for car drivers that pass one of six points in Oxford, located on roads with high levels of congestion.

The congestion charge is being implemented due to traffic issues caused by the long-term closure of Botley Road, which has in turn delayed the introduction of the authority’s traffic filter scheme.

The temporary charging points will be introduced on Hythe Bridge Street, St Cross Road, St Clement’s Street, Thames Street, Marston Ferry Road and Hollow Way.

The scheme is expected to start on Wednesday, 29th October.  Some vehicles are exempt from the charge and some people may qualify for a permit.

There is more information on the OCC website.
