A popular coach driver in Long Wittenham, Chris (Charles) King, who took villagers on coach trips to seaside resorts around the country and to local markets has died. He was eighty-five.
Chris was born in West Hendred. The family lived on the Lockinge Estate working as carters and shepherds. Chris and his parents, Punch and Daisy Bell, moved to Long Wittenham in the early 1950s. Continue reading

Blankets will be collected from homes, taken to be tested and returned the same day. A plastic bag and label will be posted prior to collection.

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has asked the Parish Council to let residents know that it is suspending garden waste collections.
This is due to the ongoing issues of a shortage of HGV drivers, as a result of the pandemic and Brexit, who are needed to drive its waste collection vehicles.
