Vanderbilt Homes Amendments

Vanderbilt Homes has submitted more amendments to its planning application for the housing development on the corner of Fieldside and Didcot Road.

These amendments are ‘discharge of conditions’ which means they deal with the conditions specified by the planning inspector when the outline planning permission was granted for the site in January 2018. Continue reading

SODC Local Plan Update

The South Oxfordshire Local Plan will be considered for adoption next week at a series of meetings at South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) after the Inspector examining the plan concluded that the plan with its modifications is sound.

The district council has been progressing the Local Plan through the examination process and to adoption under a direction from the Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick. Continue reading

Free Parking For Christmas Shopping

Each year Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire District Councils provide free parking days during December to help encourage people to shop locally for their Christmas presents.

With many shops affected by the Covid-19 restrictions, this year it is particularly important that people support local traders where they can, while maintaining social distancing and face covering requirements.

Keeping the Village Litter Free in Lock Down

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, it has not been possible to organise the usual twice-yearly Village Litter Picks.

However, if residents feel the urge to go on their own Litter Pick, the Parish Council has purchased a few ‘Pickers’ which are available to borrow, together with Hi-Viz vests and rubbish sacks.
