This is another ‘discharge of conditions’ which means that it deals with one of the conditions specified by the planning inspector when the outline planning permission was granted for the site in January 2018. Continue reading

Mark Sunday the 10th May in your diaries for the Charity Treasure Hunt in aid of Beagle Welfare at the Athletics Club on Bodkins Field from 10:30am.
The Treasure Hunt is a walkies of about 3 miles, with clues to solve along the way. The team with the most correct answers in the fastest time wins a £50 voucher of their choice. Did you know that the Village Hall, the hub of our community, is run by a small committee of volunteers? The present committee is made up of elected members and representatives from hall users.
The hall is home to the Pre-school, Lunch Club, Good Neighbours Group, Brownies, Yoga, Pilates, Strength and Balance Class, Karate, WI, Parish Council meetings, polling at elections, plus various village events and casual hire by residents and others. Continue reading

Vanderbilt Homes, the developers of the housing site on the corner of Fieldside and Didcot Road, plans to exhibit findings from its archaeological dig at an exhibition for the school and villagers.
As part of its obligations in developing the site, the company was required to carry out a detailed archaeological dig. This revealed several very early post Roman burials and an emerging Anglo Saxon community, possibly based on German allied troops who served with the late Roman army. Continue reading

It has been announced that, following the appointment process in January, The Bishop of Dorchester and the Team Rector will appoint the Revd Canon Mark Haworth as Associate Team Vicar (HfD)* in the Dorchester Team Ministry, within which he will take pastoral responsibility for the three parishes known as the Bridge Group.
