OUH NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Public Meeting

Fever Vaccine Study

The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) have asked the Parish Council to promote its clinical trial to find a vaccine against typhoid and paratyphoid A fever.

The trial is called BiVISTA and is being conducted by OVG which is part of the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford.  The group is looking to recruit healthy adults aged 18 to 55.  Participants will be reimbursed up to £4,585 for their Continue reading

Pendon Museum Pop-up Café

The pop-up café at Pendon Museum will be open again on Wednesday 10th September from 10am to 12:30pm.

This is a free drop-in event, with just a small charge for drinks and cake to cover the costs.  All donations from the cakes go to support a local group, so please go along and support it if you can.

Planning Application

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.

The application, at 26 Saxons Heath, Long Wittenham, is for the removal of the existing side extension, rear extension, and rear conservatory, to be replaced with a new single-storey side and rear extension, along with internal alterations to the ground floor. Continue reading

CCTV Image Appeal

Thames Valley Police have advised that at around 10:30pm on Saturday evening (23rd August), a suspicious male and vehicle were seen in the area of High Street, Long Wittenham where the male was seen on CCTV appearing to try door handles of a vehicle.
