The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at 22 Westfield Road, Long Wittenham, is for the conversion of the existing garage, a new extension to the rear of the garage, and internal reconfiguration.

The Parish Council has been advised by the Network Management team at Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) that there will be a temporary road closure at Little Wittenham of the unnamed road between Hill Farm and the turning for Long Wittenham.
The closure is to facilitate essential pole replacement works and will operate on 10th February 2023 between 8am and 5pm. Continue reading
The village pre-school is holding a Valentine’s Disco for the 5s and under in the village hall on Friday 10th February between 3:15pm and 4:30pm.
There will be valentine snacks, party games, face painting, tattoos and party bags.

The Parish Council has had reports of bags of dog waste being thrown into gardens.
Residents are reminded that dog waste should be disposed of responsibly. There are numerous litter bins around the village, all of which can be used. If a public bin is full, please take the waste home and dispose of it in your own bin.

It has come to the Parish Council’s attention that utility repair and maintenance work has been scheduled to take place at the junction of Didcot Road and Sires Hill between 1st and 3rd February.
The work will be carried out by Thames Water. There will be multi-way traffic signals, so delays are possible.
