Eighty-four competitors, including twenty-five children, took part in the twelfth annual Long Wittenham Fun Run on Sunday (18th), raising money for a variety of village causes.
Euan Lewis, aged just 14 from Didcot, won the race and set a new course record for Under 18 boys, in a time of 17mins 45secs, breaking the previous course record which had stood for six years. Continue reading

Following the successful Neighbourhood Plan referendum in July, the Plan was presented to the Planning Commitee of South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) last week.
The committee passed the Plan and so it is now officially ‘made’. This means that the policies included in the Plan must be taken into account for any planning application within the parish that is submitted to SODC. Continue reading
The monthly Parish Council meeting was scheduled for last Thursday evening. In the light of the announcement of the death of Her Majesty The Queen in the late afternoon, councillors decided to postpone it as a mark of respect.
The new date will be announced here as soon as it is known.
Following the announcement of the death of Her Majesty there is a Book of Condolence on the Nave Altar in St Mary’s Church. Tealights are available to be lit on the Nave Altar. Floral tributes may be left in the Church porch.
A similar Book of Condolence and tealights will be available in St Peter’s, Little Wittenham. It is suggested that floral tributes be left by the font. Continue reading
