Parish Councillor Peter Rose

After twelve years service, Parish Councillor Peter Rose has decided to step down from the council.

Cllr Rose joined the council in September 2013.  He was the chairman of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee and oversaw the completion of the plan in October 2017 and the revisions which culminated in the second version of the plan in September 2022.  He also played a significant role in creating the planning application for the Community Hub which was submitted in April 2023.

Most recently, he guided the project to upgrade Acklings Playground which was opened in June this year.  It was paid for by grants that he persevered to win.

The council owes him a huge debt of thanks for his immense contribution.  His skills and enthusiasm will be missed.

Our thanks are due to you for tackling and trying so hard to see the village achieves a new school and Community Hall . Having been through this in another village and failing after the many obstacles put in the way by organisation that should help I have only admiration for others who take this task on hopefully your work supported by other members will eventually come to fruition . All I can say is
Thank you and enjoy some family time as I know how much is given up in these positions for little thanks and plenty of criticism!

Hi Peter, although we’ve not always agreed I’m the first to acknowledge that you’ve done a sterling job on behalf of the village over the years. Many thanks for your hard work. Enjoy your newly found leisure time. Bill Symonds
