Parish Precept

The Parish Council has agreed to seek a 3% increase in its precept for the new financial year starting in April 2019.  The precept is the amount of the council tax that is paid to the Parish Council to fund the services it provides.

The 3% increase will raise an extra £573.  The rise is close to the current rate of inflation and will help the council keep abreast of rising prices and extra demands throughout the year.

In the current financial year the Parish Council received a precept of £19,087.  There are approximately 330 homes in the village but a few may not pay council tax due to personal circumstances.  The average cost to each home is about £60 so a 3% increase represents only £2 per year.
