This year’s Poppy Appeal launches this week, and door-to-door collections will run from Thursday 24th October to Sunday 10th November.
Our village volunteers will be coming round knocking on doors but don’t worry if you don’t keep cash in the house; the option to pay online via a QR code was introduced last year and worked well, so you will be able to pay using your phone if you prefer.
Don’t forget, the poppy sellers don’t just sell paper poppies – there are other products including a dated enamel lapel pin, clip on reflector poppies and car poppies.
Last year we raised a whopping £1,600 in Long and Little Wittenham!
The act of remembrance in Long Wittenham will take place at 10:55am on Monday 11th November at the war memorial in front of the school.
