Resident Jim Brown has recently completed his training to be a FixMyStreet Super User.  As such he is privvy to information about how it works in the background.

As potholes are such a talking point in the village, he has written a short article about it.

Ask the question when is the road fro Wittenham to Clifton going to be resurfaced rather than bodged all the time ,it hasn’t been done in years and the first hump judt past plough is in a terrible state !!

The road my be bumpy but much of it doesn’t meet the requirements to be repaired. There are strict guidelines on depth and area before a repair is deemed necessary.

The large potholes have already been reported, but as they’re on a ‘high speed road’ (that’s over 30mph) an official Investigator has to come and and assess the defect before it can be scheduled to be repaired for safety and insurance reasons. As a volunteer I cannot do it.

By all means, you can add any defect you find to FixMyStreet, but if it doesn’t meet the requirements it will get closed down.
