Those of you who were resident in the Wittenhams in the 1980s will remember Revd Peter Dewey who was Team Vicar at Clifton Hampden and Culham. When Revd Simon Hankey left the Wittenhams, Peter became our Vicar in 1981 and stayed until 1992.
Sadly Peter died on Tuesday 11th November.
Hilary Dewey, his widow, has asked me to let people know that his funeral is at 1pm on Friday 28th November in Sulhamstead Abbots Church (RG7 4ED). Because this is a small building with limited parking the Service will be relayed to ’The Spire’ (RG7 4HL), formerly Ufton Nervet Church but now a Community Centre.
It is planned to hold a Memorial Service in either Long Wittenham or Clifton Hampden Church before too long.
