The Parish Council has been advised that the road to Clifton Hampden has been closed for emergency roadworks.
The closure is expected to last until 29th August although the One.Network website suggests it may be until 30th August.
See the Traffic Regulation Notice below (we assume the stated start date is an error).
It’s a joke to call this an emergency as it has needed repair for many weeks. Traffic turning constantly here as I suspect no signage at the Didcot end of the village.
Lets hope it is the water leak on Clifton bridge.
I believe it is Thames Water “repairing”the leak- intel from 2 helpful cyclists.
No notice until I reached the post office at Clifton Hampden so had to double back and go over Culham bridge. An emergency ambulance was let through eventually ! In this day and age the Parish Council should have been given advanced warning. What makes you think “They” just don’t care!!!
About time too! ‘They’ ‘repaired’ that water leak last summer, let’s hope they do the job properly this time. Then there is the flood which appears on that corner every time it rains and hidden beneath all that water there is a massive pothole by the manhole cover, not to mention other smaller ones on that corner.
There are a lot of ‘Diversion’ signs but none of them helpful, in fact as you approach the bottom of Sires Hill from Didcot there are two within a few yards of each other but pointing in different directions! There is a ‘Road Closed’ sign in Long Witt as you approach The Cross from the Didcot direction but as usual no indication as to WHICH road is closed. So helpful!!
Apart from NONE what’s the chances of the potholes being repaired at the same time
