Science Vale Movement and Place Plan – Public Consultation

Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) has divided the county into twelve Movement and Place Plans (MAP Plans).  MAP Plans are part of the council’s Local Transport and Connectivity Plan (LTCP).

The MAP Plans will deliver schemes that prioritise human health and place-shaping, with the focus on making Oxfordshire a great place to live, work, enjoy etc.  This will improve walking, cycling, public and shared transport infrastructure and help to create healthy communities across the county.

Long Wittenham is part of the “Science Vale Movement and Place Plan” which also includes Wantage and Didcot, Culham, East and West Hendred, Chilton, Ardington, Harwell, Upton, East and West Hagbourne, North and South Moreton, Sutton Courtenay, Milton, Appleford, Little Wittenham, Clifton Hampden, and Berinsfield.

OCC has started a public consultation on the MAP Plan for Science Vale and it wants to hear residents’ views with special regard to:

  • The overall vision for the area
  • The objectives set out in the MAP Plan
  • The actions that will be taken to meet these objectives
  • How often the plan should be reviewed and updated

There is more information about the Science Vale Map Plan as well as the opportunity to comment on OCC’s Let’s Talk website.

The consultation will run until 1st December.
